Bike Rides & Events

Wed Road Ride

Our Wed Road Ride is prefect for all ability levels. We have A, B, C groups that roll out of the shop parking lot at 6pm. Each group rides the same 5 mile loop at different speeds which gives you the opportunity to try the faster group if you're feeling fast and fall back to the slower group if needed. We ride 2 miles out to the 5 mile loop and normally ride 3-5 laps then 2 miles back to the shop.

Whole Enchilada

Todas las millas. Every mile of trail by bike. The Whole Enchilada MTB Race features whole and half options that cover the entirety of the Whitewater Center trail network.

Saluda Redbank 100

2022 was the first year for the Saluda Redbank 100. Riders were greeted with beautiful sunshine and a course that was much more demaning than they thought. What will 2023 bring? Come find out and see if you're up for the challenge!

Hamil Kerr Challenge

Register for a challenging 55 mile bike ride to Caraway Mountain, or a 40 mile bike ride, or a 25 mile bike ride. Registration includes t-shirt, cookout, park rides and more.

Pinehurst Triathlon Festival

Come enjoy a spring weekend in the North Carolina sandhills. Spend an extra day on one of the many 5-star golf courses that define Pinehurst as one of the golf meccas on the east coast. Visit the beautiful and quaint "downtown" area of the Village of Pinehurst with its numerous shops and restaurants. Finally, come participate in one of the best international distance triathlons in the region, plus a sprint distance option.

US MTB: Brown's Creek Trail

The US MTB Series will travel to Brown’s Creek in Elizabethtown, NC this season for the first time ever. This is a fun, fast, sand-based trail system.

Great event just down the road for the shop with multiple routes around Davie County. 

Belews Lake Triathlon

Belews lake is an amazing venue for a triathlon, the crystal clear waters and foothill backdrop will mesmerize you and the rolling hills will challenge you!  The Belews Lake Triathlon is both an Olympic and a Sprint distance event with a time trial start.

Cycle NC Coastal Ride

The Cycle North Carolina Coastal Ride offers participants and their families a fun-filled 3-day weekend while both on and off the bike. Start your day by hopping on your bike and exploring one of the many fully supported routes this ride has to offer.

Lake Norman Triathlon

*  Conveniently located just 6 miles from the Mooresville Exit off I-77
*  Lake Norman State Park provides Charlotte area participants with a race that's close-by yet rural in nature.  
*  Participants will be able to park immediately adjacent to the main race site.
*  The park boasts one of the regions largest mountain biking network, offering over 30 miles of single-track trail and also contains a family campground with 32 sites.


US MTB: The Hulk

The US MTB Series will travel to The Hulk in Myrtle Beach, SC this season for the first time ever. This is a fun, fast, sand-based trail system.

Race to Valhalla

The Race to Valhalla is the hilliest of our course. Situated in the mountains of Oconee County, SC the Race to Valhalla will be the true test of your fitness.

US MTB: Battle of the Bikes

This course will provide a world cup style short course. The course is 4 miles per lap. Dry camping (No water/power) is available for $10 per night/$25 per RV (Saturday Night Only). Restrooms will be open 24 hours a day. The course will run clockwise this year.

Gold Rush Offroad Triathlon

The Roadies & Dirties of Cycling Club is proud to present the 3rd Annual Gold Rush race with a twist.  This year’s Gold Rush will be a Triathlon at the Ridge Cycle Hub in Lexington, NC. The first segment will be kayaking, then mountain biking and finish with the run.

Ride for Hope

This Ride was organized and designed by the Business Management students of Ragsdale HS assignment:Project Management, your registration supports their efforts and learning.

US MTB: Race to the River

Harbison State Forest offers a challenging combination of rolling and steep hills with some excellent singletrack. The open course allows room for passing and fast racing.

The Honor Ride

A super fun road bike ride for every level rider & e-bikes welcome!
*4 routes to choose from, ranging from 23 to 65 miles
*Fully supported with maps, cue sheets, GPS links, rest stops and sag wagon.
*Registration opens at 7:30 AM and all riders start at 9 AM.
*Registration includes: rides, swag bag, and after ride party with food, beverages, door prizes & live music!

Saddles and Spokes 

Saddles & Spokes takes cyclists through the scenic rolling hills of Northern Davidson County. You’ll enjoy the fully-supported routes, a silent auction, and a delicious post-ride spaghetti lunch. 

US MTB: Return to the Ridge

The Angler's Ridge Trail Association is proud to present “Return to the Ridge” at Angler’s Ridge in Danville, VA. This race is the USA Cycling Virginia State Championship race. This race will also have the first E-Bike class in the US MTB Series.

Belgin Waffle Ride 

The Third Annual BWR NC, presented by Sierra Nevada, will take place on June 10, in Hendersonville, NC at the Ride Kanuga location, an incredible destination nestled on 1,400 stunning acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The race promises to be among the hardest if not the hardest course with roughly 134-miles and 13,000 feet of climbing, but the shortness belies that challenge of the parcourse, which will be run in very hot and humid conditions over undulating terrain and difficult off-load sectors..

US MTB: Salisbury MTB Race


Greenwood Gravel Grinder

Singletrack, long gravel roads, hillier than expected terrain, and a chicken farm. It all adds up to a course that makes you earn your post event meal and beer. Don't underestimate the course just by looking at the total feet of elevation gain.

Tour de Llama

Tour de Llama is an annual fundraiser benefiting Samaritan Ministries to feed the hungry and shelter the homeless. We offer three different routes that go through the beautiful scenery of rural Yakin County with minimal traffic.

All rides are flat to hilly with rest stops along the routes. Afterwards, you are invited to stay and enjoy wine tasting, food trucks, and of course hanging out with the LLAMAS!

Blood, Sweat and Gears

From humble beginnings, BSG has grown into the North Carolina High Country’s premier cycling event. Starting and finishing in historic Valle Crucis, home of the Mast General Store, BSG offers incredibly scenic views, epic climbs, and some of the best cycling that North Carolina has to offer.

Kid for Kids Triathlon

Our mission is to introduce kids to the sport of Triathlon in a safe and fun environment.

Smiley Sprint Triathlon 

Are you ready for the BEST the sport of triathlon has to offer!?  Our Smiley race will feature top triathletes in the area (and country) and we also welcome first-timers and all who come to participate. EVERYONE gets a Championship reception!

Winston Salem Cycling Classic

Join us as we light up the night along 4th street in downtown Winston-Salem for dragrace-style street sprints!  The night will feature both professional and amateur categories in a competitively charged atmosphere along restaurant row.

The Winston-Salem Cycling Classic course has become known for its challenging route that loops up and around Bailey Park, offering some of the most exciting bike racing in the country.

Watch pros and amateurs compete all day and take in the extra entertainment at the festival in Bailey Park all afternoon.

We’ll have plenty of food trucks and a beer garden too, so plan to spend the day.

Then, stick around for our FREE (yes, FREE) concert into the night!

The Cycle North Carolina Mountain Ride is a perfect weekend getaway for any outdoor enthusiast and their family. Enjoy a 3-day cycling festival featuring a variety of route options each day that focus on showcasing the beautiful landscapes that Western North Carolina has to offer.

US MTB: The Sizzler

This year’s finale will be The Sizzler in Bur-Mil Park, Greensboro, NC. The Piedmont Fat Tire Society is proud to present one of the oldest events in the series. This is a fundraiser for PFTS. The club builds and maintains trails throughout the Triad area in North Carolina.

High Point Triathlon

Whether you are a beginner looking to try out their first triathlon or a seasoned veteran who wants to test out their speed, the High Point Sprint Triathlon is a great summer race. Located at the beautiful Oak Hollow Marina, you will swim, bike and run this exceptional course.

Lake Norman Fondo

The Lake Norman Gran Fondo is a 3 route bike ride that starts and ends in Davidson, NC.

Kershaw Gold Rush

Just like 2022, we will be offering double points for the final event of the series. Kershaw is an amazing course, and we want to encourage everyone to make the trip, so lets sweeten the pot a bit.

Tour of Farmington

In 2009 the Tour of Farmington began with 19 dedicated cyclists.
That small band grew to 193 riders a few short years later!

Bike MS Tour To Tanglewood

Enjoy the scenic views of the Yadkin River Valley and Tanglewood Park with a community of riders dedicated to changing the world for people with MS. Soak in the landscape and beautiful views of the Piedmont Triad from your bike while riding along a two-day route that showcases the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Feel the extraordinary support and excitement throughout your journey as we come together to reach our goal—a world free of MS.

Cycling NC Mountains to Coast

The Mountains to Coast Ride is not a race, but a recreational trek across the state using scenic back roads.  The ride is designed to promote physical fitness, good health and the scenic beauty of North Carolina.

Bikes for Kids

The Bikes For Kids  Metric Century bike ride (formerly known as LYRMC) rolls out of Lewisville, NC. It flows across the rolling hills Yadkin & Surry Counties and crosses the Yadkin River 4 times. This annual event raises money for the Piedmont Flyers Bike For Kids Christmas program.

King & Queen of the Watershed

This is a fundraiser for the Piedmont Fat Tire Society to raise money for trail building and maintenance. This event is sponsored by Work Hard. Go Fast. Be Nice., a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the mountain bike community thrive in our area. Work Hard. Go Fast. Be Nice. encourages everyone to make a donation to the Piedmont Fat Tire Society for trail building and maintenance.  It's also a way to say thanks for all the hard work PFTS does by showcasing all the watershed trails in the area.

Nat Greene's Revenge Triathlon

Join us for a full day of multisport racing at our 2023 season finale! The morning will kick off with an On-Road Triathlon and Duathlon and the afternoon is the MOTUS Off Road Triathlon. Not only will this make for more space for each race, it will also give people a chance to compete in both races for our Double Trouble Award! If you have not had the chance to race with us at Lake Brandt Marina, this is an amazing race venue

Piedmont Flyers Bicycle Club

Piedmont Flyers Bicycle Club is an educational, recreational, and social organization for bicycling enthusiasts based in Lewisville, NC.   Most of our members live in the western triad, which includes Advance, Clemmons, East Bend, Greensboro, High Point, Lewisville, Pfafftown, and Winston-Salem.

The Piedmont Flyers Bicycle Club promotes and encourages bicycling in our community.

The Piedmont Fat Tire Society is dedicated to the education, promotion, and enrichment of sustainable mountain biking trails and the communities they serve. With an organized effort we hope to accomplish many goals. One major goal being to bring a positive attitude toward mountain biking in general by maintaining existing trails and developing new ones.
